What is vintage Scandinavian furniture?
Vintage Scandinavian furniture is furniture designed and made in Denmark, Finland, Sweden or Norway, mostly in the mid-20th century, and now sold second-hand. It is known for honest materials such as teak, oak and birch, simple forms and careful craftsmanship. “Vintage” usually means a piece is at least 20 years old. Many pieces we sell date from the 1950s–1970s [confirm typical range].
Who is Sozo Design?
Sozo Design was founded in 2021 by Isak Enlund. The name comes from the Greek verb sozo, meaning to save, heal or restore, and the idea is the same: saving good furniture and making it useful again. We select pieces by designers such as Hans Olsen, Arne Vodder and Ilmari Tapiovaara, restore them where needed and sell them online and in our showroom.
What can you buy?
Our range changes constantly because each piece is unique. Typical categories are lounge chairs and armchairs, sofas, dining tables and dining chairs. Recent examples include a Hans Olsen mid-century teak armchair, an Arne Vodder FD164 teak lounge chair and a Danish oak dining table. Prices depend on designer, condition and rarity.
