Answers to common questions about Sozo Interior Design, our vintage Scandinavian furniture, restoration, delivery and showroom.

About Sozo Interior Design

What is Sozo Interior Design?

Sozo Interior Design is a Finnish company in Vantaa and Stockholm that sells selected vintage Scandinavian design furniture and restores pieces to give them a new life. We were founded in 2021 by Isak Enlund. We also have some furniture in Pietarsaari.

What does "Sozo" mean?

Sozo comes from the Greek verb zózó, meaning to save, heal, deliver, make whole or restore. It reflects what we do: saving good furniture and making it useful again.

What kind of furniture do you sell?

We sell imported and local mid-century Scandinavian design furniture, with a focus on pieces made in Scandinavia and Finland. Our range includes lounge chairs, sofas, dining tables and dining chairs by designers such as Hans Olsen, Arne Vodder and Ilmari Tapiovaara. Every piece is unique, so our selection changes as items sell.

Condition and restoration

Is the furniture restored?

Restoration is part of what we do. We restore furniture that will last a long time and make an impact on your interior, where it needs it. Typical work includes cleaning, sanding, repainting or adding lacquer or colour, joint repair, refinishing and upholstery.

Is the furniture authentic?

We select our pieces carefully and describe their designer, maker and condition as accurately as we can, for example using maker's marks or documentation. For general guidance, see our article on how to identify authentic Danish mid-century furniture.

Do you restore customers' furniture?

Yes. You can use our Sozo Restoration service. Besides restoring the pieces we sell, we also restore furniture that belongs to you. To get started, fill in our restoration form in Entisöintilomake (Finnish) or Restoration form (English), or contact us through our contact page.

Once we have assessed what restoration your piece needs and seen some pictures of it, you can bring it to our showroom in Vantaa (Sähkötie 8), or we can pick it up for you. Shipping costs may be added.
